Position Summary

The Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible to ensure the suppliers are in compliance to PSI’s Supplier Quality Policy and requirements. 

 

Essential Duties &

Responsibilities

 

 

 

·  Manage the Product Part Approval Process (PPAP) for assigned suppliers and commodities. 

·  Communicate and work cooperatively with customers and suppliers to ensure products and services exceed customer expectations.

·  Lead external audits, including closing out audit findings, creating audit finding reports and determine proper corrective and preventative actions.

·  Facilitate disciplined problem solving (i.e. Global 8D) with suppliers on all quality issues.  Ensure timely resolution of supplier failure, corrective actions and preventative actions.

·  Responsible for supplier continual improvement activities to drive down PPM.

·  Initiate debits with suppliers.

·  Maintain inputs for supplier scorecard.

Education and/or Experience

·     Bachelor’s Degree in Technology, Engineering or a related field. 

·     Minimum 5-8 years experience working in a quality assurance function with OEM and automotive suppliers utilizing the AIAG core requirements: PPAP, APQP, FMEA, MSA, and SPC.

·     Thorough understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) required.

·     Background in supplier development/management and experience working with or for a tier automotive supplier.

·     ISO and/or auditor experience preferred.

·     SSGB or SSBB certification preferred.

·     ASQ CQE or CQA preferred.

·     Problem solving experience utilizing Global 8D, Six Sigma, etc.

Position Summary

The Manufacturing Quality Engineer is responsible for the APQP process, support continuous improvement, support PPM reduction, and the feedback mechanism of internal/external data back to the process in their assigned area. 

 

Essential Duties &

Responsibilities

 

 

 

·  Product Part Approval Process (PPAP) for their assigned area.

·  Conduct capability analysis and MSAs where needed.

·  Support the creation and the maintenance of PFMEAs and Control Plans. 

·  Communicate and work cooperatively with customers and operations to ensure products and services exceed customer expectations.

·  Lead internal audits, including closing out audit findings, creating audit finding reports and determine proper corrective and preventative actions.

·  Facilitate disciplined problem solving (i.e. Global 8D) with operations on all quality issues.  Ensure timely resolution of quality defects, corrective actions and preventative actions.

·  Support continual improvement activities to drive down PPM.

·  Collect and analyze defect trends for their assigned area and feed back to operations for continuous improvement.

·  Maintain and communicate quality scorecard.

Quality Technician

Position Summary

The Quality Technician assists in performing incoming inspection of new parts, troubleshooting quality issues in production, processing NCM, performing surveillance audits on in-process engines, and supporting continuous improvement efforts.

 

Essential Duties &

Responsibilities

 

 

·     Responsible for surveillance inspections of engines in-process torque on production line daily.  Includes checking torque, pull-push-pull of harness connections, etc.

·     Troubleshooting quality issues found on the line and assist/lead problem resolution.

·     Support continuous improvement efforts in production to drive down PPM.

·     Communicate quality issues from internal and external customers to the point of application on the line (i.e. create and post quality alerts). 

·     Identify non-conforming product and issue corrective action when necessary.

·     Remove and process defective production parts daily.

·     Process transfers from/to MRB area within Epicor.

·     Maintain schedule of calibration for all monthly tools requiring inspection.

·     Maintain precision tools on assembly line (wrenches, machines, run down guns).

CMM Programmer/Operator

Position Summary

The CMM Programmer/Operator is responsible for providing accurate data to production and Advanced Product Development.  This involves checking parts on the CMM for APD development, 1st piece setups, in-process machine moves or audits, and final blueprint verification.

 

Essential Duties &

Responsibilities

 

 

·     Support APD in product development.

·     Troubleshooting quality issues found in machining and assist/lead problem resolution.

·     Support continuous improvement efforts in production to drive down PPM and improve efficiencies.

·     Support First Article Inspections (FAIs) and PPAPs from suppliers. 

·     Identify non-conforming product and issue corrective action when necessary.

·     Remove and process defective production parts daily.

·     Process transfers from/to MRB area within Epicor.

·     Maintain CMM calibrations after service.

·     Participate in Measurement Systems Analysis (MSAs) and perform SPC checks when requested.

Job

Education and/or Experience

·  3 years experience in CMM programming

·  High school diploma or equivalent

·  Experience with internal combustion engines and associated components is preferred

·  Knowledge and understanding of plant machining techniques and procedures

·  Working knowledge of SPC a plus

QUALITY ENGINEER/SUPERVISOR

Essential Job Duties

·        Maintain, support and develop activities to maintain 3rd Party registration under the GFSI scheme

·        Maintain, develop and ensure quality plans and procedures are followed

·        Maintain gauge calibration system for quality and R&D equipment

·        Supervise, develop, train and evaluate Quality Inspectors in a 24/7 operation

·        Determine, initiate and develop continuous improvement processes related to incoming, production, raw materials development, validation and product control.

·        Maintain Corrective Action Preventative Action and Supplier CAR databases, analyze and provide summary reports of the Quality Metrics and Quality Performance

·        Serve as a technical resource for continuous improvement plans

·        Work collaboratively with Manufacturing to address quality and performance issues

·        Work with and facilitate communications with  Manufacturing, Sales, R&D and suppliers as needed to support our customers

·        Manage finished and raw material hold inventories.

·        Support customer requests for regulatory information

·        May perform other duties as required

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

Ability to communicate effectively and to work well with others individually or in a team setting.  Excellent verbal and written skills.  MSOffice proficient.  Good problem solving skills.  Acceptable knowledge base in statistics, root cause and process control.

Education and Experience       

·        Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years prior quality experience,  3 years preferred, depending on type of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

·        HACCP training within the GFSI benchmarked registration programs required

·        ASQ registration a plus (CQA, CQE, etc.)
