24f9db4Rich is Managing Partner of Innovation360, headquartered in the Chicago area. Innovation360 provides innovation training and full-service new product development for organizations. Over his 25-year career, Derks has developed and launched hundreds of new products for the consumer, medical, and industrial markets. Before starting Innovation360, Derks was president of Medline’s Durable Medical Equipment Division, where he had global responsibility for all new product development, manufacturing, and marketing for a wide variety of medical equipment. Derks holds a MBA-Marketing and a BS-Industrial & Systems Engineering, both from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is also CPIM certified through APICS. Derks holds multiple patents, and is a frequent speaker at national conferences, Stanford University, MIT, Northwestern, and the University of Wisconsin. He is also an instructor with the Illinois Institute of Technology where he team teaches a class on business innovation. Rich has published numerous articles on creativity and innovation, and is a past columnist for Product and Process Innovation.

Supply Chain Analyst/Associate

Basic Function for Supply Chain Analyst/Associate:

Support team goals and global sourcing strategy that provides Paris Presents with a sustainable competitive advantage.  Supply chain and vendor base improvements, establish/publish metrics and measures for the Supply chain team.  Provide analysis and options to effectively execute vendor delivery, product changes, cost, and quality goals:

·         Work closely with Sourcing & Product Development to execute product changes for modifications, redesigns of current products.   Manage these product changes globally with our Asian team and vendors to meet delivery, quality, cost objectives.

·         Coordinate Paris Presents cross functional Change Management initiative for new and transitioning/changing products.  Tracking, management, specifications, development.  Support project plans to meet customer timelines and deliver products on time, on quality, and on cost.

·         Monitor, track, and publish metrics and measures for Supply Chain.  Provide input on supplier scorecards, maintain supplier profiles, and help drive improvements based on establishment of targets & performance to targets.

·         Utilize material indices and economic insights to provide cost guidance.  Manage and maintain a “Master Cost Document”.  Align purchasing and sourcing objectives to achieve Paris Presents dual sourcing strategy maintaining cost competitiveness.  Manage metrics, measure performance, and ensure suppliers adhere to PPI needs.

·         Maintain integrity of data for supplier information, supplier database.

·         Assist Global Quality Manager with Regulatory data base and Audit tracking for vendor compliance.



·         4 year degree (Supply Chain, Engineering)

·         2 years Supply Chain experience with track record of success – Project Management, process analytics, process improvement, Green Belt Certified

·         System savvy – Database Management, Microsoft Office, Report writing, system optimization

·         Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills

·         Strong business and personal ethics

·         Ability to think strategically and execute tactically

Quality Engineers

Background:     Ability to consolidate production data into format that provides feedback on capabilities.

                        Background in ISO/TS 16949 environment.  Previous internal auditor training a plus.

                        Previous experience in a die casting or injection molding environment a plus.

                        Some knowledge of Zeiss (Calypso) and Brown & Sharpe (PC DMIS) CMMs a plus.


q  Training in analysis of basic causes of customer complaints and returns, and participate in instigating corrective action.

q  Customer interactions for families of castings, including requesting deviations for tolerances that do not impact form, fit, or function.

q  Maintain and update Visual Aids; create them when required.

q  Create work instructions and operating procedures for new or changed processes as well as rework instructions for non-standard operations.

q  Interpret standards, specifications, quality requirements and quality planning for in-plant customer inspections.

q  Contribute to preparation of control plans for each part to be used during production to maintain product quality.

q  Help to maintain ISO/QS procedures and work instructions

q  Knowledgeable and capable of generating AIAG, APQP, FMEA, MSA, PPAP packages, and associated documents

q  Other duties as assigned




q  Plan for training of new or transferred jobs.

q  Provide technical assistance for understanding quality standards.

q  Assuring that the quality level of the finished product meets the customer expectations.


This is a 1st shift position contract to hire possible direct hire for the right individual.

CMM Programmers

Quality TemPerm is currently looking for CMM programmers in Libertyville IL. Candidates must have experience working with Zeiss Calypso but will consider PCDMIS or Browne & Sharpe or any other.

Responsibilities for the CMM Programmer

– Write CMM Programs for capability studies, first piece inspections and miscellaneous checks
– Perform capability studies for newly developed product
– Troubleshoot issues with new tools, molds.
– Programming Language Needed: Zeiss Calypso a big plus
– Designed jigs/fixtures needed for CMM set-up


Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) experience

Zeiss Calypso

2-5 years of CMM programming

This is a 1st shift opportunity contract to hire with a rate of $17-25hr DOE

7am-3:30pm Monday-Friday with occasional overt-time
