Overview:

The Quality Assurance Manager or the Conveyor Manufacturing Division will take ownership of all aspects of factory and product quality. This includes process and quality improvement projects, supplier quality and customer specification compliance as well as finished goods quality control. The candidate will have experience with factory-wide statistical analysis, 6-sigma improvement projects and expertise to drive improvement across multi-discipline teams, actively. Candidates must have hands-on technical background in a high technology manufacturing environment and ISO 9001-2008 experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish a clearly defined Quality Management System by developing quality assurance policies and procedures that ensure compliance with ISO standards.
  • Improve current systems and procedures in order to investigate failure modes and implement their corrective and preventive actions for product and process related concerns
  • Drive and lead collaborative cross functional teams to determine critical parameters and manufacturing controls to meet customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with Product Engineering to develop product control plans and FMEAs throughout the lifecycle of the product and equipment
  • Lead Material Discrepant Reviews and partner with Manufacturing Engineering on process change control.
  • Manage the Conveyor Division Non-conformance Reporting and Returned Material Authorization Systems
  • Determine improvement opportunities using Quality Methodology including statistical methods, lean, 6-sigma and problem solving techniques
  • Resolve internal and external product quality issues by utilizing 8D methodologies
  • Improve product quality control measurement methodology to ensure that products and processes comply with the relevant requirements of the quality management system and customer expectations
  • Develop and maintain process controls and documentation
  • Supervising technical staff in carrying out tests and checks, in a manufacturing environment Ensuring tests and procedures are properly understood, carried out and evaluated and that product modifications are investigated if necessary
  • Collect and analyze performance data against defined parameters, preparing technical and management system reports
  • Work closely with Purchasing and Product Engineering to establish supplier quality performance criteria and monitor supplier performance
  • Assess suppliers’ product specifications and quality plans
  • Perform supplier audits

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of 10 years Quality experience with 5 years Management experience.
  • Record of demonstrated successes in implementing quality assurance processes.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, develop procedure manuals and conduct business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply production, inventory control, forecasting and projection principles and statistical tools.

The Supplier Development Manager (SDM) will plan, manage, and execute Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) for all re-sourcing and product change activities within existing and new assembly operations.  Responsibilities include:

  • Manage the entire supply base to ensure all suppliers are registered and/or compliant to the quality system requirements of TS-16949.
  • Support Corporate Purchasing & Logistics and Parts in the selection of supplier’s by assessing their quality capabilities and system effectiveness before the placement of business and working with manufacturing and part distribution centers (PDC) to assist in improving first time quality.

Position Purpose and Requirements:

Ensures that suppliers deliver quality parts, materials, and services. Qualifies suppliers according to company standards and may administer a Certified Supplier Program in receiving inspection to ensure cost effectiveness. Monitors parts from acquisition through the manufacturing cycle and communicates and resolves supplier-related problems as they occur. Develops and prioritizes an auditing schedule to ensure that designated suppliers are audited on a regular basis to ensure good manufacturing practices (GMP) and quality standards are met. Evaluates suppliers’ internal functions to assess their overall performance and provides feedback in assessment of their operation.  Majority of time spent contributing to and managing projects.  Requires in-depth knowledge and experience.  Uses best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products or services.  Solves complex problems; takes a new perspective using existing solutions.  Works independently; receives minimum guidance.  Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience; may direct the work of other staff members.

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree OR At least 7 years of supplier quality or related experience
  • At least 5 years of supplier quality or related experience

  • Master’s degree
  • At least 3 years of supplier quality or related experience

Position Summary / Description

Act as the site EHS & Quality Lead, oversee the implementation, maintenance and continual improvement of the site Environmental, Health & Safety, Quality Management System, and EHS / Quality Metrics performance. Works with site management and personnel to plan, develop, implement and continually improve site relevant EHS / QMS requirements, and to ensure sustainable compliance to customer, regulatory and RR Donnelley EHS / QMS requirements.
This role reports directly to the site manager and has a strong dotted-line report to the Platform EHS & Quality Lead within the business platform.

Responsibilities

  • Provides ongoing leadership and support for the maintenance and continual improvement of site Quality Management System (QMS) processes inclusive of food safety / contact & Medical Device / Pharma GMP’s as required.
  • Provides ongoing leadership and support for the maintenance and continual improvement of site Environmental Health and Safety program & processes.
  • Ensures that site QMS is in compliance with RRD QMS requirements including Quality Task Tracker and Quality Metrics reporting.
  • When applicable, coordinates activities to maintain relevant Quality System requirements such as ISO 9001:2008, GMP (21 CFR Part 820) etc, including preparing for and scheduling of annual certification compliance audits.
  • Informs site management on significant or potentially significant quality issues or on any issues for designated high risk accounts.
  • Reviews all spoilage errors and any errors for designated high risk accounts and approves root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions to ensure the risk of repeat is reduced or eliminated.
  • Informs the Platform Quality Lead on significant or potentially significant quality issues
  • Facilitates continual improvement through effective root cause analysis and corrective and preventive actions to reduce or eliminate errors.
  • Responsible for the monitoring, measurement and trending of QMS processes including where applicable relevant GMP/HACCP Quality Metrics.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of relevant site QMS processes (such as ISO 9001:2008, GMP (21 CFR Part 820)) through internal audits and the evaluation of site Quality Metrics data.
  • Collects and submits quality task tracker and quality metrics data for the site on a monthly basis and issues a report to the Platform Quality Lead.
  • Interact with customers as requested and assist with quality related responses to RFP’s/RFI’s for the site.
  • Where applicable review relevant GMP documents for compliance to company SOPs, quality systems, and regulatory requirements.
