ASQ Chicago TI Summer 2017 Class Schedule Announcement

The TI did not receive sufficient registrations to begin classes on April 29.

Please Note The New TI Target Start Dates Below.

How to register:  To register for a class, please submit a completed registration form to the TI.  A check or credit card for payment is required to be registered.  Download the Registration Form… 

  • Target Start Dates: The start dates given in the schedule are TARGET dates.  Classes will start on the target date provided there are sufficient registrations to run the class.  Typically, 6-8 registrations are required to run a class.
  • Registration Posting: received registrations for each class will be posted on the ASQ TI Webpage so that students can monitor and anticipate if class will or will not start on the target date.
  • Insufficient Registration for Target Start Date: Insufficient registration approximately one week prior to the target start date will postpone start until the next target date.
  • Payment Processing: Payments will be processed one week prior to start of class.  Payment information is required for registration.
  • Location of Class Sites: Locations will be announced when running classes are determined.

Project Management Tools – Building a Better Floor

Identify project management principles found in the project management body-of-knowledge and demonstrate the principles stepping the audience through a real-world example using the project management life cycle phases.

LaWanda C. Lacy is a Global Project Manager for Fresenius Kabi with a current focus on launching Serialization for over 700 products in the domestic US market. Building on a Bachelor of Science in Biology, LaWanda’s advanced education from the Keller Graduate School of Management includes the Masters in Business Administration with a specialty in Quality & Operations Management, and a Masters in Project Management. LaWanda attained certifications for Project Management Professional, Six Sigma Green Belt, and Quality Improvement Associate. LaWanda continues her training with certifications in process for the Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and Pharmaceutical GMP Professional. LaWanda specialized in Pharmaceutical/Life Science industry Project Management for the last 5 years. As a member of the Project Management Institute (PMI) and American Society of Quality (ASQ), LaWanda pursues to grow the body of knowledge that allows effective Project and Program Management for the Quality System.

Chicago Section 1201 – Awarded PAR Gold

Great news!

Our Section has been awarded the PAR Performance Gold.   We have been working towards this goal for several years.  We finally achieved it.  Congratulations to all for your contribution.

Some of the key elements were our Treasurer’s meticulous on time submissions of the required reports, our World Class Auditing process, Programs’ innovating events, Membership’s new initiatives, Nik’s presentation at last year’s Member Leader Conference and our successful presentation on Sister Sections, spearheading a new corporate initiative, introducing Social Responsibility, HQ’s recognized efforts from our certification renewal process, the Proctoring, Jim fanning’s Website development and Eric’s Programs PAR submittals three years ago (it was kept alive), TI educating our volunteers and offering free tuition to our veterans, and all of the coordinated efforts/contributions from all of the member leaders / volunteers that make the Section work so well.

Thank you and congratulations to all for your dedication and selfless efforts.

2017 Bunny Rock Chicago 5K Run / Walk & Egg Hunt

ASQ Chicago Section is pleased to announce an upcoming 2017 charity event under the Social Responsibility (SR) program initiatives. All members and their families as well as guests are invited to register for the Bunny Rock Chicago 5K Run/Walk & Egg Hunt for the Red Door Animal Shelter Charity. Red Door Animal Shelter is a no-kill shelter committed to helping animals in need. This event will take place at 9 am on April 15, 2016 at Montrose Harbor (601 W. Montrose Ave., Chicago, IL). ASQ Chicago SR team is forming a small group of 5K Run/Walk participants to represent our section in this charitable event. Registration fee for those participants will be covered. In addition, a group of volunteers will be formed to help with various event-related tasks. Please be advised that the participants/volunteers spaces are limited and will be assigned on the ‘first-come/first-served’ basis. All participants will receive bunny ears, sunglasses, a dri-fit t-shirt, goody bag and a finisher medal. All volunteers will receive a t-shirt. Please send your request for participation to socialresponsibility@asqchicago.org by 4/12/17. Event participants/volunteers can pre-register their kids for the Egg Hunt at the charity event site.
