Purpose: Provide leadership to make Quality a recognized part of SRAM’s brand and value.

·     Advance Quality at SRAM by strengthening quality planning & execution through Quality Management System (QMS) development and deployment to ensure robustness and compliance is designed into products, processes, and manufacturing controls.

·     Ensure Quality Planning processes are effective and the Quality Planning activities and Quality Management System are effectively executed, resulting in products that deliver trouble free operation to our customers.

·     Create and maintain a culture of continuous improvement and learning that respects and values thoughtful and disciplined use of data. 


Primary Function:

·      Manage at SRAM the Global Quality Management System responsibility and participate as a member of management, in formulating & establishing QMS related policies & procedures for SRAM.

·      Develop, implement, and coordinate, with the team members and functional managers, the quality management system at SRAM. Drive adherence, and ongoing system refinement with the goal to maintain a global quality management system that works well for SRAM to standardize business, quality, and operational processes with the goal to achieve industry world-class levels.

·     The Manager Global QMS works with all functional managers to create alignment and promote adherence to the quality management system and related processes & tools (compliance related processes included) in a team atmosphere to support organizational & plant objectives and drives continuous improvement in QMS related processes to foster further quality improvements.

·      Deploy a data, fact based, and performance metrics oriented management approach to ensure meeting organizational objectives and driving continuous improvement. 

·      Assist the organization through quality and QMS training in the area of expertise and also provide back-up support as needed to the PDQE team.  

Major Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and evaluate current status / information of the current quality management system, processes, capabilities, trends, and problems to identify the gaps to be address.
  • Establish & implement meaningful metrics and reporting in the area of responsibility for monitoring and identification of immediate improvement needs and establish direction for long-term improvements of the local andglobal quality management system.
  • Drive the development, implementation, improvement and maintenance of the quality management systemglobally.
  • Foster the ongoing development of resources for the development & audit support of the quality management system globally.
  • Initiate & maintain a quality management audit system (also to include compliance audit aspects) through cross-functional resources and balanced audit schedule that entails QMS, Process, Product, and Compliance Audits and drive an effective non-conformance resolution follow-up process.
  • Develop and promote an environment for continual improvement of the global quality management system and deploy a performance oriented improvement measurement approach.
  • Ensure the effective deployment and certification of an ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS) and full adherence to the QMS requirements.
  • Review technical publications etc. to stay abreast of technical and quality developments.
  • Lead & manage direct reports and drive further team & resource development.
  • All other duties as assigned.



·       4 year Bachelor degree in Engineering; additional BA degree highly desirable, MBA a plus.

·      7 to 10 years of experience in Quality Engineering, Quality Management Systems with 3 year work experience as a Quality Manager or equivalent required.

·      Six Sigma Green Belt certification or equivalent required, Six Sigma Black Belt certification preferred.

·      Certified ISO9001 Lead Auditor required, ISO/TS16949 Lead Auditor certification preferred.

·      Minimum 3 years implementing quality systems in a manufacturing & design environment.

·      A solid understanding of component manufacturing, assembly, and sound manufacturing & engineering practices is preferred.

·      Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

·      Experience in leading and applying effective organizational change management techniques.

·      Professionalism & integrity to communicate and work with employees at all levels of the organization and a strong business ethics are required.

·      Hands-on and results oriented with a strong work ethic and sense of personal responsibility.

·      Excellent planning and organizational skills.

·      Ability to lead and train others in Quality & QMS principals and tool use.

·      International work experience required.

·      Ability to travel on average up to 30% (initially this could be closer to 50%), both domestically and internationally.
