The ASQ Chicago Section 1201 will be awarding a scholarship to a high school student graduating in 2015 to help the student pursue a higher education. Scholarship applications must be postmarked by December 1, 2014; the scholarship winner will be announced by March 1st with the award being made in April 2015. The amount of the award is $1,000.
Eligibility and Qualifications
The scholarship is open to any high school senior in the Chicago Metropolitan area sponsored by a member of Chicago Section 1201. The applicant must be planning and eligible to continue his or her education at an accredited university, college, vocational school or junior college offering an associate or bachelors degree. Candidates must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4 point scale or 3.75 on a 5 point scale, complete the scholarship application and submit two letters of recommendation. Students may apply for and receive a scholarship only once.
Criteria for Selection
Applicants will be evaluated by a panel of judges on an essay on “what quality means to me”.
It is the responsibility of the applicant to complete all steps of the application procedure. No application will be considered complete until all information requested is provided.
