February General Meeting 🗓 🗺

From your program chair, James Persaud…

My Fellow members,
Thank you for attending our January meeting despite the wonderful weather we experience that day. The meeting was well attended with higher than normal registration. Our presenter started the year with a “Go for it” presentation. It was interactive and attendees were involved. You make our meetings what they are. Please continue to participate.

February meeting information

At our February meeting, you get the opportunity to spend time with your significant other. The meeting is as usual, the 2nd Wednesday of the month. It so happens to be February 14th. Bring that special one to our meeting, have dinner with them, even a beverage. How nice of you. It will be different and memorable. Just try it. We were also reminded that it is “Ash Wednesday” we catered accordingly. Of interest at this meeting will be two most interesting topics namely:

Change Intelligence – that is, helping build the capacity of people, teams, and organizations to lead change that sticks”

Are you frustrated that no matter what you try, your improvement projects seem to either fail outright or produce gains that don’t last? The reality is that most changes do fail. As many as 70% of organizational change initiatives fall short of expectations. As a Quality professional, your career progress hinges on your ability to lead successful and sustainable change.

In this presentation, you’ll get introduced to how to get beyond the buzzwords and leverage a proven formula for change. The CQ System for Developing Change Intelligence is based on decades of change leadership in the workplace, years of conducting global research on managing change, and study into the psychology and neuroscience of change. About our presenter…

Barbara A. Trautlein, PhD is author of the best-selling book Change Intelligence: Use the Power of CQ to Lead Change that Sticks, principal and founder of Change Catalysts, and originator of the CQ System for Developing Change Intelligent Leaders and Organizations. For over 25 years, Barbara has coached executives, trained leaders at all levels, certified change agents, and facilitated mission-critical change management initiatives – achieving bottom-line business and powerful leadership results for clients. In 2015 she had the honor of being awarded Change Management Consultant of the Year by the Association of Change Management Professionals Midwest Chapter. Her blend of research, real-world expertise, and actionable strategies makes her an in-demand speaker spanning a wide range of industries across the globe. Clients served include Abbot Laboratories, BP, Cisco, Ford Motor Company, the NYPD, and United Airlines. Barbara holds a doctorate in Organizational Psychology from the University of Michigan.

Our other presenter is one of our own; Arvind Srivastava. He will be relating on “Attribute Agreement Analysis“.

Customers rarely differentiate the causals of a PPM defect at the contract table. A ppm is a ppm. Whether the feature is for a safety or critical nature vs a visual attribute nature, either can keep a company from securing the order. While product and process evaluations by humans are done daily for reasons of efficiency and cost, the effectiveness of this evaluation process can be but is rarely assessed. This leaves the organization wide open for risk of returns, ill-will, rework, and ultimately loss of business. Learn how to identify and manage this risk in a hands-on and engaging manner
